Novartis has appointed Patrick Horber as president, international. Horber brings over two decades of experience in the biopharma sector to the role, as well as a deep understanding of the global pharmaceutical market. He joins the company from AbbVie, where he has most recently been serving as senior vice president and president, immunology. He has also held several positions across a decade at AbbVie. In these roles, Horber was responsible for the company’s immunology business unit and led the global strategy and US execution, including global commercial development. Prior to this, Horber served in a variety of leadership and general management positions in the US and Europe. He was general manager, Switzerland at Abbott, business area director in oncology and haematology at Roche Pharmaceuticals, and European brand lead for HIV at Bristol Myers Squibb.

Christian Kanstrup
Evaxion Biotech has appointed Christian Kanstrup as chief executive officer. Kanstrup holds over 25 years of life sciences' experience, strategy development and business development. He most recently served as executive vice president, Nordics, Baltics and UK at Mediq. Prior to this, Kanstrup held several senior leadership roles at Novo Nordisk, including senior vice president and head of biopharma operations.

Pleco Therapeutics has appointed Henno Welgemoed as chief medical officer. Welgemoed brings 15 years of clinical expertise and over two decades of pharmaceutical experience to the role. He joins the company from Clinigen Group, where he served most recently as global director of medical affairs. Prior to this, he held the position of medical director at LINK Healthcare.

Edward Stevens
Metrion Biosciences has appointed Edward Stevens as chief scientific officer. Stevens brings over two decades of experience in ion channel drug discovery to the role. He was most recently director of drug discovery at Metrion, after joining the company from his role of chief scientific officer at Ario Pharma. Prior to this, Stevens worked in associate research fellow roles at Pfizer.

Hansa Biopharma has appointed Hitto Kaufmann as chief scientific officer. Kaufman has over two decades of experience in research, development and advancement and most recently served as chief scientific officer at Pieris Pharmaceuticals. Prior to this, he held the position of head of strategy and operations at Sanofi and was previously vice president, process science Germany at Boehringer Ingelheim.

Lauren White
ImmunoGen has appointed Lauren White as senior vice president and chief financial officer. White holds over two decades of international experience in corporate finance, strategic partnering, accounting and investor relations. She most recently served as chief financial officer, treasurer and principal accounting officer at C4 Therapeutics. Prior to this, White held roles of increasing responsibility at Novartis.

Norgine has appointed Saulo Martiniano as chief operating officer. Martiniano brings a wealth of experience in leadership, operational expertise and manufacturing to Norgine. He most recently served as global manufacturing senior vice president at L’Oreal. Prior to this, he was senior vice president of global manufacturing infant formula at Reckitt and vice president of America’s supply chain at Mead Johnson Nutrition.

Sanofi has appointed Madeleine Roach as head of business operations. Roach brings extensive experience to her new role, having most recently served as senior vice president group internal audit and risk management at Sanofi. Prior to this, she held several positions at AstraZeneca, including head of global finance services Asia pacific and global business site lead in Malaysia.

Jane Grogan
Biogen has appointed Jane Grogan as executive vice president, head of research. Grogan has nearly two decades of experience leading biotech research and joins Biogen from Graphite Bio, where she served as chief scientific officer. Prior to this, Grogan held several senior roles at Genentech, including head of adaptive tumour immunity and principal scientist in cancer immunology discovery research.
Bristol Myers Squibb
Bristol Myers Squibb has appointed Monica Shaw as senior vice president and head of major markets. Shaw brings extensive experience to the position, having worked across immunology, dermatology, oncology, virology, neurology and rare diseases in a variety of seniority roles. She has also launched more than 15 products through phase 3 to commercialisation. She joins the company from Oncopeptides, where she has been serving as chief executive officer. Shaw has held international leadership roles at a range of companies over the course of her career, including the position of executive vice president, head region Europe and Canada at LEO Pharma. She was also previously vice president commercial head Asia-Pacific at GSK/ViiV Healthcare, medical director at Novartis, and has held leadership positions at Norgine, Shire and Merck KGaA. She is also a board member of AC Immune.

Christopher Stevenson
Engitix Therapeutics has appointed Christopher Stevenson as chief scientific officer. Throughout the course of his career, Stevenson has served in several senior positions, including his most recent role of vice president, global head of pharmaceutical sciences for interventional oncology at Johnson & Johnson. Prior to this, Stevenson headed discovery and translational biology units at Respivert, Novartis and Roche.

Sanofi has appointed Houman Ashrafian as head of research and development. Ashrafian joins the company from SV Health Investors, where he was managing partner of the global private equity and venture capital investment platform. He has previously served as vice president and head of clinical science group at UCB. Ashrafian also co-founded Cardiac Report, Heart Metabolics, Catamaran Bio and Weatherden.

Thian Kheoh
Elicio Therapeutics has appointed Thian Kheoh as senior vice president of biometrics. Kheoh has over three decades of drug development and clinical trial experience in the biopharmaceutical industry. He most recently served as vice president of biometrics at Mirati Therapeutics. Prior to this, he held several senior roles at Tocagen, Janssen, Cougar Biotechnology, Biogen, TAP and Warner Lamber-Parke Davis.

Sanofi has appointed Brian Foard to lead the Speciality Care GBU ad interim. Foard has over two decades of specialty pharmaceutical experience and currently serves as head of specialty care North America and US country lead at the company. Prior to this, Foard held a variety of roles at Galderma, including vice president and general manager US prescription business.

Sanofi has appointed Emmanuel Frenehard as chief digital officer. Prior to his appointment, Frenehard held the positions of global head, digital GBU teams and digital products at Sanofi. He also previously served as chief technology officer, product and technology at iflix and held a range of roles at Walt Disney International, including senior vice president and chief technology officer.

Regeneron has appointed Christopher Fenimore as chief financial officer. Fenimore first joined the company nearly two decades ago and currently serves as senior vice president, head of accounting and controller. He was previously Regeneron’s vice president of financial planning, and has also served as vice president of finance at Mojave Therapeutics and vice president at CW Group.

iOmx Therapeutics has appointed Nils Debus as chief business officer. Debus brings nearly three decades of industry experience to his new role and most recently served as chief business officer at OSE Immunotherapeutics. Blomberg has extensive experience working in Europe’s life sciences sector, having held a variety of research and leadership roles. He is currently founding director of Elixir, after joining the fledgling research infrastructure in 2013. He also previously worked as a research scientist for AstraZeneca for 14 years.

Publicis Health has appointed Victoria Wright as chief executive officer of Publicis Health UK.
Wright has been with Publicis since 2007 and has fulfilled several senior positions, including her most recent post as chief executive officer of Langland. She first joined the group as general manager of Publicis Resolute, and also served as managing director and group managing director.

Fishawack Health has appointed Amar Urhekar as chief operating officer. Urhekar has over two decades of experience in global leadership and has served in several senior positions.
