A different perspective

In this month’s issue we look at patient participation and the importance of the patient voice in clinical trial development. The article talks about a recent discussion with healthcare professionals and patient representatives, where a blind poll revealed that attendees believed that the ‘public is not sufficiently informed on clinical trials’. The article goes on to say that a significant barrier preventing clinical trial recruitment is the lack of clear understanding and a general fear of the risks involved in participating. By listening to the patient voice, there is a chance to increase engagement and involvement within the general public. Read more on page 22.

In our cover story on omnichannel communications, Chris Ross conducts a creative review of pharma’s pursuit of communications excellence and discovers an industry in need of insight and imagination. Chris looks at research from an Indegene study published earlier this year that revealed that doctors have been disappointed with pharma’s digital efforts during the pandemic. Read more on page 28.
