COMMENT
We were delighted to return to the Grosvenor House hotel in London on 1 September to hold our annual Communiqué Awards 2021 in person. This comes after 18 months marked by unprecedented change and a new necessity for adaptability when last year, for the first time, the Communiqué Awards were held virtually.
Commenting on the success of the night, Debbie Tuesley, Communiqué Awards Director said: “It was great to return for the first in-person Communiqué Awards since the outbreak of the pandemic in 2020. The level of work submitted this year was exceptionally high, reflecting the outstanding dedication of all those working across medical affairs and healthcare communications.”
In 2021 we added three exciting new categories: Excellence in Medical Affairs – Operations, the Agility and Flexibility Award, and the Leadership Award for Action on Workforce Diversity and Inclusion. These new categories are in line with the more flexible and diverse nature of the environment in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry and reflect a greater focus on medical affairs.
Turn to page 22 to see coverage of the exciting night! The competition was as fierce as ever and, again, the judges were impressed with the quality of the entries. We have the full results from the 2021 programme on page 28. Congratulations to all our winners, highly commended and finalists!
Looking ahead, in our November issue we will be focusing on the importance of digital innovation in healthcare and how it has improved the lives of patients with chronic diseases.
