Candel Therapeutics

Mark Sims

Candel Therapeutics has appointed Mark Sims as Chief Commercial Officer. Sims is a seasoned oncology commercial leader with more than 25 years of experience building and advancing global and US cancer franchises.

Most recently, Sims served as Vice President and Global Franchise Head for EGFRm Lung Cancer at AstraZeneca, where he led global commercial strategy for one of the company’s largest business franchises.

During his eight-year tenure at AstraZeneca, he also served as Global Commercial Head – Lung Cancer, Head of Oncology Business Unit – Canada, and US Business Franchise Head – DDR/Women’s Cancer. Prior to AstraZeneca, Sims spent a decade at Novartis in various senior oncology leadership roles. Earlier in his career, he held commercial positions at Idenix Pharmaceuticals and Merck.

Camena Bioscience

Gregory P. McGuinness

Camena Bioscience has appointed Gregory P. McGuinness as CEO. McGuinness has over 30 years of executive leadership and operational expertise, having successfully commercialised technologies across the life sciences and diagnostics markets. His career has been defined by scaling operations, driving product innovation and executing commercial expansion into global markets. McGuinness was most recently CEO at Inanovate and was also CEO/Co-Founder at TwiXimo Therapeutics. He has previously held board and senior leadership positions, including Chief Commercial Officer at Genturi, VP International Operations at NimbleGen (acquired by Roche) and VP Commercial Operations at Genetic MicroSystems (acquired by Affymetrix).

Stoke Therapeutics

Thomas McCauley

Stoke Therapeutics has appointed Thomas McCauley as Chief Scientific Officer (CSO). In his new role, he will be responsible for leading Stoke’s scientific strategy. McCauley joins Stoke with more than 25 years of experience, having most recently served as President and CEO of Neptune Bio. He previously served as CSO at Omega Therapeutics, Macrolide Pharmaceuticals and Translate Bio, where he led the advancement of each company’s scientific platform and drug development capabilities. Earlier in his career, McCauley held leadership and scientific roles at Shire, Inotek Pharmaceuticals and Archemix. He currently serves as a Scientific Advisor for multiple early-stage biotechnology companies in the RNA and genetic therapeutics space.

Daniel Chapple

Richmond Pharmacology has appointed Daniel Chapple as Commercial Director. Chapple joins Richmond with more than 25 years of commercial leadership experience across the life sciences sector, spanning clinical development, patient engagement, technology and consultancy organisations. Most recently, he served as Chief Business Officer and Chief Partnership Officer at DontBePatient Intelligence. Prior to this, he held senior commercial leadership positions at Alira Health, Innovative Trials, Cognizant and ICON. Chapple also spent almost a decade as Chief Commercial Officer at Quanticate. In his role, Chapple will oversee sales, account management, proposals, contracts and marketing – including participant recruitment marketing activities.
