Mikael Dolsten

Pfizer has appointed Mikael Dolsten as chief scientific officer and president, Pfizer research and development. Dolsten brings over two decades worth of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and has held a variety of senior positions. Prior to his appointment, Dolsten joined Pfizer, where he served as president of worldwide R&D for over a decade. In this role, he was responsible for the research and development of all compounds with proof of concept (POC) for all therapeutic areas and provided support to post-POC medicine studies. Before joining Pfizer, Dolsten served as president of Wyeth Research, where he led scientists involved in R&D and medical activities across the US, Europe and Asia. Earlier in his career, Dolsten served as executive vice president and head of pharmaceutical research at Boehringer Ingelheim and also global vice president of cardiovascular, metabolism and gastrointestinal at AstraZeneca.

Leslie Orne

Trinity Life Sciences has appointed Leslie Orne as chief executive officer. Orne brings more than two decades worth of leadership experience consulting in the life sciences industry to the role. Since 2001, Orne has overseen the delivery of integrated consulting, insights and analytics services to Trinity’s clients. She most recently held the position of senior partner and chief client officer at Trinity.

Chris Tovey

Destiny Pharma has appointed Chris Tovey as chief executive officer. Tovey brings over a decade of experience in leadership roles and currently serves as chief operating officer at Jazz Pharmaceuticals. Prior to this, Tovey served as chief operating officer at GW Pharmaceuticals and he was also vice president and head of global marketing operations at UCB Pharma.

Sofia Heigis

Oncopeptides has appointed Sofia Heigis as chief executive officer. Heigis steps into her new role from her previous position at the company, serving as managing director, Germany. Prior to joining Oncopeptides, Heigis worked at AstraAzeneca for over a decade in a variety of positions, including medical affairs director and later vice president of medical and regulatory affairs.

Neumora Therapeutics

Henry Gosebruch

Neumora Therapeutics has appointed Henry Gosebruch as president and chief executive officer. Prior to joining Neumora, Gosebruch served as executive vice president and chief strategy officer at AbbieVie for nearly a decade. Earlier in his career, he worked at JP Morgan for over two decades, where he held the position of co-head of M&A North America.

Avacta Group

Shaun Chilton’

Avacta Group has appointed Shaun Chilton to its board as non-executive director. Chilton has held a number of senior and executive commercial positions in the past three decades prior to his appointment. He has worked for several pharmaceutical and pharmaceutical service industries, including Pfizer, Sanofi and Wolters Kluwer Health. He most recently held the position of chief executive officer at Clinigen Group.

Terri Cooper

LifeArc has appointed Terri Cooper to its board of trustees as a non-executive director. Cooper, who has more than 35 years of experience in the life sciences and healthcare industry, worked at Deloitte for over 16 years in various roles, including as vice chair of the firm’s external DEI practice. Cooper currently serves on multiple boards, including as board chair for Verso Biosense.

Sameer Mistry

LifeArc has appointed Sameer Mistry to its board of trustees as a non-executive director. Mistry holds over 18 years of international experience in pharmaceuticals, medical devices and consumer healthcare across multiple disease areas. He is currently global medical lead, early drug development at GSK, and has held senior roles at Johnson & Johnson. Mistry was previously a doctor in the NHS.

Rima Makarem

LifeArc has appointed Rima Makarem as a non-executive director to its board of trustees. Makarem has gained valuable experience in a variety of roles, including director of competitive excellence at GSK in 2003 and non-executive director and audit chair at NHS Haringey in 2007. She currently serves as chair for multiple organisations, including Sue Ryder and Queen Square Private Healthcare.

Sharon Barr

AstraZeneca has appointed Sharon Barr as executive vice president, BioPharmaceuticals R&D. Barr holds nearly two decades of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and has held several senior positions. Prior to her appointment, Barr served as senior vice president and head of research and product development for Alexion, AstraZeneca’s rare disease group, for ten years. She was responsible for drug discovery, process development and clinical supply, as well as clinical biomarkers and bioanalytical discovery. Barr has previously led teams spanning translational research, precision medicine and global development. She has held multiple roles, including vice president, head of research, and senior vice president, head of research, data sciences, bioinformatics, and diagnostics at Alexion Pharmaceuticals. Earlier in her career, she also held the position of assistant director, translational and clinical science at Astellas Pharma after joining the company as a senior research investigator.

Pfizer has appointed Chris Boshoff as chief oncology research, development officer and executive vice president. Boshoff has worked for Pfizer for over a decade in several roles, including chief development officer, oncology and, prior to his appointment, chief development officer, oncology and rare disease. Before Pfizer, Boshoff was the founding director of the University College of London Cancer Institute, London.

Cyrus Mozayeni

Pheon Therapeutics has appointed Cyrus Mozayeni as chief executive officer. Mozayeni brings over two decades of experience in the biotechnology industry to Pheon. Prior to this, he co-founded and served as chief executive officer at Vedere Bio through its sale to Novartis. Earlier in his career, he served as co-founder, president and chief business officer at Oncorus.

Woolnough has held several senior leadership positions across the health and care sector and currently serves as chief executive officer at Asthma + Lung UK. Prior to this, Woolnough held several positions, including director of policy and executive director of policy and information at Cancer Research UK, for over a decade.

Chiesi Group has appointed Maria Paola Chiesi as vice chair. Chiesi joined the company nearly two decades ago and has served as corporate social responsibility director. She created and led the shared value and sustainability department and has the responsibility of implementing improvement plans. Alongside her role at Chiesi Group, Paola currently serves as president of the Chiesi Foundation.

Qasim Ahmad

IO Biotech has appointed Qasim Ahmad as chief medical officer. Ahmad brings over two decades of strategic clinical development, medical affairs and marketing authorisation expertise and most recently served as senior vice president and head of oncology clinical development, medical affairs, US, at Novartis. Prior to this, Ahmad held the position of global medical director at Eli Lilly and Company.

British Heart Foundation

Bryan Williams

The British Heart Foundation has appointed Bryan Williams as chief scientific and medical officer. Williams currently served as chair of medicine at University College London for the past decade. He most recently served as president of the International Society of Hypertension. Earlier in his career, he served as director of research at the University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Nuno Mendonça

AC Immune has appointed Nuno Mendonça as chief medical officer. Prior to his appointment, Mendonça served as senior vice president and chief medical officer of Bial, Portugal. He has also previously held a number of senior positions including senior medical director at Novartis and AveXis. Earlier in his career, he served as medical director at AbbVie.

David Raben

Bicara Therapeutics has appointed David Raben as chief medical officer. Raben joins Bicara with over two decades of biopharmaceutical and academic translational oncology experience. Prior to his appointment, he served as vice president of global product development and product general manager, oncology, at Amgen. Prior to Amgen, Raben served as vice president and franchise leader, clinical development oncology, at Genentech.

Wild joins the company from Ipsos, where she served as executive vice president and sector lead for its US Qualitative Healthcare business. She also previously led the firm's Global Healthcare Qualitative Center of Excellence. Prior to that, Wild worked in a variety of roles within GfK's healthcare division,
including as senior vice president.

Prior to this, Bertolini served as senior project manager at global creative agency Rapp. She also held roles at DBB earlier in her career.

She joins 90TEN from Envision Pharma Group, where she served as a senior medical writer. Prior to this, McManus worked as a senior medical writer at Ashfield Medcomms for nearly nine years.

Maya Schioppo

GCI Health has appointed Maya Schioppo as operations coordinator. Schioppo joins the agency from her most recent role as assistant account executive at Hill+Knowlton Strategies. Prior to this, she worked freelance in public relations, beauty for Alison Brod Marketing and Communications after completing an internship at the agency. Schioppo also previously undertook an internship in social media and communications.

Connor Silverstein

GCI Health has appointed Connor Silverstein as account coordinator. Alongside his new role, Silverstein also serves as chief technology officer at volunteer-based non-profit organisation United Women of Rockland. He joins GCI Health from his most recent marketing at BHG Financial, where he served as brand coordinator after first joining the company as a social media intern.
